Missouri is gaining a hold on the hearts and minds of music fans everywhere on a level far beyond what you might expect for town of just 6,200 people.

Nestled among forty glistening lakes in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, many music fans believe this quiet town is destined to be bigger than Nashville. Eight million people a year already visit and this demand to see the new mecca has made Branson vacation packages a hot item among those who love country.

Whether you love country music, or would just like to be there at the start of a quiet revolution, this is a place you need to make a ‘Must See.’

A century later and the whole nation’s wired. People can play their favorite sounds on devices that would leave Mr. Edison’s team almost slack-jawed with wonder. One compact flash memory card can hold more flawless music in the size of a stamp than your parents could fit in one room.

I’m a geek, so I’m biased, but let’s face the facts – Sometimes you just gotta love progress.

The dramas, joys and everyday lives of people all over the world can be beamed to your home in unbelievable quality. But it can have its down-side; If you follow strict Christian values, or perhaps have small children, you need to be sure your program choices will be suitable for your needs.

Family-friendly entertainment is a challenging niche but if you want the finest Christian books, videos or music, Nest Entertainment is a name you should know. Their range is already extensive, but they pride themselves on being able to source any Christian-themed media you need. Visit their site and browse through the choices – it’s a welcome escape from the dubious shows put out by most networks.

Today, everyone’s wired! People play music 24/7 on iPods and cellphones, and one SD card can hold more songs than your Father’s entire vinyl-encrusted collection. But of course, you need the right gear.

Is it my imagination or do all modern teens have weeds in their ears? Everywhere you look there’s some guy [or girl] with tuberous wires hanging out of their head?? Digital music has become one of the few benign addictions in modern society – Everybody’s tuned in! Thomas Eddison would be dumbfounded – and flattered! But whether you’re hooked on MP3’s or JPG’s, the one thing you’re going to need more of is memory cards.

With typical, uncaring avarice the makers have created a vast range of formats – You can easily waste hours looking for yours. Or you can search memorysuppliers.com and find just what you need in a blink. Drop by and stock up – just don’t blame me when you get chased by a whacker!

The [temporary] passing of Prop. 8 last week is already having effects. And none of them good. The Artistic Director of a Sacramento-based theater company donated $1,000 to the ‘Yes on 8′ campaign. Gay rights groups learned of the gift and began organizing a boycott of the theater, and after what the Director, Scott Eckern, called ‘prayerful consideration’ he resigned from the post. Mr. Eckern said he made the donation ’so the traditional definition of marriage could be preserved,’ but claimed in his defense that he had no idea his contribution would cause such a problem.

So let’s see if we’ve got this right; A man who has worked in the world of musical theater for over 20-years, a realm whose brooding passion and intense creativity form an irresistible flame to which gay people have responded for generations, had ‘no idea’ that his co-workers and peers would be greatly upset and risk losing their rights if his donation’s recipients achieved their well-publicized goal. If you need stupidity like that, you can probably get it wholesale.

But it gets worse: Ron Prentice, chairman of the ‘Yes on 8′ campaign to whom the donation was made issued a statement criticizing the plans for a boycott, saying the gay rights groups apparently, “cherish tolerance and civil rights, but are unabashedly trampling on the rights of others.”

This from the leader of a group whose sole cause for existence is to revoke any rights Gay people have, to which his self-appointed coven of judgmental retentives do not choose to give their consent.

If that wasn’t such a peerless example of brainless hypocrisy, it would almost be funny. Apparently, plotting to deny other people their freedom is only offensive when playing the victim gets you on TV. When the plot is your own, that’s perfectly fine.

Is it me, or is anyone else having trouble comprehending that logic?
